Qt forms the backbone of Nokia's multi-platform strategy, linking Symbian and MeeGo under a common framework that it hopes will prevent the developer community from fragmenting and allow MeeGo to freeload a bit off Symbian's massive popularity in the global market. All told, the system should make it easier for devs to quickly throw together a good-looking interface that works across both MeeGo and Symbian -- and considering that apps can (and usually do) make or break a platform, we'd say that's a good thing.
